Overland Ladakh
with Dharmashala and Amritsar
15 Nights and 16 Days
A spectacular flight across the Himalayas takes us to the barren landscapes of Ladakh where the stark contrast between these windswept hills and rest of India is immediately apparent. The people appear different too-Ladakhis are Tibetan in their religion and culture, making Ladakh one of the world’s most remote corners of Buddhism.
On this discovery we explore the capital of India NEW DELHI and then the monasteries, villages, spectacular scenery of The INDUS AND NUBRA VALLEY as we cross the world’s highest motorable pass, KHARDUNG-LA (5602m). Then we stay overnight near the turquoise-colored PANGONG LAKE and we reach there by crossing the CHANG-LA (5360 Meters) and passing through INDUS VALLEY we reach LAMAYURU and after crossing NUBRA AND SYOKE VALLEY we reach at DISKIT MONASTERY and then you see one of the most beautiful part of India SRINAGAR and the living place of Dalai Lama DHARMASHALA and at last the most sacred place of Sikhs the holy GOLDAN TEMPLE.
Day 01  New Delhi
Arrival in New Delhi, The Capital of India where you are greeted with a traditional Indian welcome on arrival and escorted to the hotel.

Day 02 New Delhi
Breakfast
After Breakfast the visit starts with Old Delhi. In Old Delhi first you visit the JAMA MASJID which is the largest mosque of India then you will enjoy a ‘RICKSHAW RIDE’ the Rickshaw will take you through the very famous market of Old Delhi called CHANDNI CHOWK then you will drive pass THE RED FORT and after this you stop at RAJGHAT the commemorate place of Mahatma Gandhi.
After this visit you will enter in the colonial heritage of Lutyen’s Delhi which we call New Delhi where you will visit THE INDIA GATE, THE PRESIDENT’S HOUSE (From Outside), THE PARLIAMENT OF INDIA and OTHER GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS (From Outside), THE BANGLA SAHIB (The Sikh Temple).Then the later part of your visit is dedicated to THE HUMAYUN’S TOMB and QUTUB MINAR which the tallest minaret of India.

Day 03 New Delhi – Leh
Breakfast
Take an early morning flight to LEH. Arrival and check in at hotel and rest of the day is at leisure to acclimatize to the change in altitude.

Day 04 Leh–Hemis Monastery – Shey Gompa –Stok Palace -Leh
Breakfast
After breakfast drive towards 45 km. south of Leh where you will visit HEMIS MONASTERY,SHEY GOMPA and STOK PALACE and then come back to Leh and then after lunch we will visit the LEH PALACE and in the evening THE SHANTI STUPA.
Overnight in Leh.
Day 05 Leh – Diskit - Hunder
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
After breakfast move towards NUBRA VELLY. This is a 125 km. journey but it will take near about 6 hours. On the way we will cross the highest motor able pass of the world KHARDUNG-LA (5602 Meters) to reach NUBRA VELLY where we will visit THE DISKIT MONASTERY and the very big statue of AVALOKITESVARA and after that move towards HUNDER where you can also have a CAMEL RIDE (OPTIONAL).

Day 06 Hunder - Leh
Breakfast
After Breakfast driver towards Leh. Arrival and check in and rest of the day is free to explore the local market.
Overnight at Leh.
Day 07 Leh – Thiksy – Pangong Lake
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
After having breakfast move towards PANGONG LAKE which is 165 k.m. from Leh and will take around 6 hours to reach there. On the way we will visit THE THIKSEY MONASTERY and cross the second highest motorable pass of the world CHANG-LA (5602 Meters). Arrival and check in at the tents. And then after lunch we will have a visit of the beautiful PANGONG LAKE.

Day 08 Pangong Lake - Leh
Breakfast
After Breakfast driver towards Leh. Arrival and check in and rest of the day is free to explore the local market.

Day 09 Leh - Uleytopko
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
En Route to ULEYTOPKO stop to visit BAGSO PALACE built of mud bricks in the 16th & 17th Century and the 12th century ALICHI MONASTERY. This Alchi monastery is significant of Kashmiri style painting, woodcarvings and perhaps some of the finest frescoes in the world. We also visit the RIDZONG MONASTERY late in the afternoon.
Overnight at Uleytopko in tents.
Day 10 Uleytopko - Leh
Breakfast and Lunch
We leave in the morning to visit LAMAYURU MONASTERY, Ladakh’s oldest Gompa perched on a steep cliff overlooked by massive mountains. Drive back to Leh in the afternoon.
Overnight in Leh.
Day 11 Leh - Srinagar
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Take the flight for SRINAGAR. Arrival and check in at the HOUSEBOAT. In the evening a BOAT RIDE in DAL LAKE.
Overnight at The House Boat in Srinagar.
Day 12 Srinagar
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Half day site scene of SRINAGAR which includes NISHAT BAGH, SHALIMAR BAGH and HAZRATBAL MOSQUE. Remaining day is free to explore the local market.
Overnight at the House Boat in Srinagar.
Day 13 Srinagar – Jammu - Dharmshala
Breakfast
Check out for the airport to catch the flight for JAMMU. On arrival Drive towards DHARMASHALA, home to Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government in exile. Evening is free to explore the local market.
Overnight at Dharmashala.
Day 14 Dharmshala - Amritsar
Breakfast
Morning visit the sights of DHARMSHALA and later continue your drive to the holy city of Sikhs AMRITSAR. Arrival and check in at hotel.
Overnight in Amritsar.
Day 15 Amritsar
Breakfast
Spend the morning to visit GOLDEN TEMPLE. Afternoon visit WAGAH BORDER to see the change of guard ceremony. Late evening you have the option to return to the Golden Temple for the religious ceremony.
Overnight in Amritsar.
Day 16 Amritsar – New Delhi
Breakfast
Take a morning flight to NEW DELHI. In time you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
